Congratulations! After weeks of working on your personal statement and application, months of studying for the MCAT, and years studying for science exams, shadowing physicians, volunteering, pipetting & taking care of mice, and boasting incredible extracurricular activities, you've made it. You're a medical student, a short step away from becoming a physician.

Compared to college, medical school is a whole new ballgame. Pulling Red-Bull fueled all-nighters works to some extent, but it's not sustainable. The people who do really well in medical school are the ones who study consistently everyday, for a good portion of the day, with a structured study regimen. While it pays to be a genius, it's usually the hard-workers that come out on top. It's not, however, pure, grinding hard work that leads to success. It's smart, hard work—work that builds on the foundation of high-yield resources and advice that others have used and succeeded with. That's why we're here.

We hope that the advice and resources listed here will help others become excellent students, physicians, clinicians, mentors, and educators. Welcome to Med School Advice.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom...it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us.
— Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
